Backus Design Works
Backus Design Works is a limited liability company currently operating in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Backus Design Works was founded by John Backus.
During the 70's, 80's and 90's he made a line of stuffed animals and soft sculpture crafts sold under the name, MY KIDS. These items were predominately sold at the Boulder Arts and Crafts Gallery, in Boulder, Colorado.
He also taught two semesters of jointed teddy bear construction at the Jefferson County Continuing Education Program.
After a brief 30 year hiatus for a career in hospital construction, he is now retired with a significant amount of material from previous projects. He is currently doing limited projects on an as-requested basis, including MY KIDS repair.

…My Pound Puppies, Kelly and Markie, look better than new and they are close to 40 years-old each. I was moved to tears when Kelly came back home. I couldn't believe how wonderful he looked compared to when I shipped him out. Also, he restored my Shaggy Dog, who is at least 60 years-old. He looks absolutely wonderful. Also, his prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend him for anyone who loves their stuffed animals and wants them repaired.
